What is a haiku?
A haiku is essentially a very short poem. I’ve chosen the standard of 3 lines, where the first line is 5 syllables, second line is 7 syllables, third line is 5 syllables again. And that’s it. Oh, and a haiku is FUN.
Are there any rules blah blah blah?
Just post your 5-7-5 haiku in the comments below before the deadline, and vote for somebody else’s by clicking LIKE (you can accept notifications of new posts). It can be funny, prosaic, serious, stupid – whatever you like, the voters (you) will decide.
You can share your post, reblog it, publish it in a book, stick it on the fridge – all work is your own.
Is there a theme each week?
Yes, to keep everyone on track each week, there’ll be a theme, plus I’ll have an attempt to get you all going.
Where can I get help?

What do I win?
Errrr … nothing, other than the praise of your peers, and that if you’re really impressive they might click through to your own website (leave your Twitter handle), invite you into your community, or even go on a date get married and have babies. Winners will be announced each week.
